Hot Water

Yellowstone is one of my favorite places, and I hope to visit there again many times. The colors in this pool of scalding hot water are created by chemicals in the water and extremophile bacteria and algae. Pools like this are all over the park and make for some really stunning scenery. (Nerd Note: the polymerase in these extremophile bacteria is what makes PCR possible. If you don't know what PCR is, click here)

I love the picture and the video reminded me of that night at your place.....I had forgotten all about PCR!
